08-20-2003 • USF Lakeland Announces New Faculty/Promotions

The University of South Florida's Lakeland campus announces the following new faculty members:Dr. Andrew Artis, Assistant Professor in Marketing, Dr. Craig Knight, Assistant Professor in Information Systems Decision Sciences, Dr. Lisa Rapp-Paglicci, Associate Professor, Social Work, Dr. Mary L. Howe and Dr. Raymond Lemley, Visiting Associate Professors, Educational Leadership, Dr. Richard Marshall, Visiting Assistant Professor, Psychology and Social Foundations. Read more


08-14-2003 • USF Lakeland Land Acquisition Committee To Recommend Site to Campus Board

Members of the University of South Florida's Lakeland Campus Land Acquisition Committee will make their recommendation to the Lakeland Campus Board for a new comprehensive campus site on Friday, August 22, 2003, at the Four Points Sheraton Hotel in Lakeland. This will be a large step in the land acquisition process for the local campus. Read more


08-12-2003 • Leaders Appointed To Business Advisory Board

Members of the Business Advisory Board of the University of South Florida’s Lakeland Campus recently elected leadership for the group. Michael Joachim, owner of Michael Joachim and Associates of Lakeland was chosen to serve as Chairman of the group. Elected to serve in the Vice-Chair capacity was Carole Philipson, Vice President of the Lakeland Regional Medical Center and member of the USF Lakeland Campus Board. Read more


07-28-2003 • Senior Scholars Seek Volunteer Computer Instructors

Do you have a desire to volunteer but not a lot of time? Are you computer literate? If you answered “yes,” to these two questions, USF Lakeland would like to hear from you!
Senior Scholars, a continuing education program at USF Lakeland for adults ages 50 and over, is seeking volunteers proficient in Excel, Word, Internet Explorer and various other programs to instruct beginning, intermediate and advanced computer courses. Classes will meet once a week for two hours, lasting about six weeks. Read more


07-09-2003 • Associate of Science to Bachelor of Applied Science Information Session To Be Held at USF Lakeland

Those who have previously earned an Associate of Science degree now have the opportunity to continue their education at the University of South Florida's Lakeland campus. An information session on this new degree program called Associate of Science to Bachelor of Applied Science (AS to BSAS) will be held Thursday, July 31, 2003, at 6:00 p.m. in the USF Lakeland Auditorium. 07-07-2003 • Engineering Open Advising Session To Be Held

There will be an Open Engineering Advising session from 5:00pm until 7:00pm in room 2125/2126 on Thursday evening, July 24, 2003 in room 2125/2126.. Engineering students and prospective engineering students are encouraged to drop by between 5:00 and 7:00pm for both undergraduate and graduate advising. Read more


06-09-2003 • USF Lakeland Announces Application Deadlines

Prospective students interested in transferring to the University of South Florida’s Lakeland campus will need to note the following application deadlines. Students interested in attending Fall courses must have applications submitted no later than July 1for the coming term. Supporting documents such as transcripts and proof of residency must be submitted no later than July 15th for Fall admission. Read more


06-06-2003 • Bursting at the Seams!

The University of South Florida's Lakeland campus continues to exhibit the need for a new, primary, comprehensive campus as its enrollment continues to soar each semester. The numbers are in and enrollment at the local, branch campus is up more than 28% from Summer 2002, with a student population greater than 1500 for the Summer 2003 session. This number is more than 107% greater than Summer of 1999, the first summer of significant growth for the campus. Read more

University of South Florida Alumni currently living in the Polk County area and friends of the University of South Florida will have the opportunity to meet, mingle and enjoy a meal at the 2003 USF Alumni Association Polk County Chapter Community Luncheon to be held Thursday, June 5, 2003, at 11:30 am, at the Lakeland Yacht & Country Club.
