LAKELAND, FL (July 27, 2005) - Many of the region's leading health and wellness practitioners and nationally respected scholars will descend upon Lakeland in late August for a professional conference that brings cutting-edge research to central Florida. The Journey through Aging conference is spearheaded by USF Lakeland Gerontology Professor and Director of the USF Rath Senior ConNEXTions and Education Center, Rosemarie Lamm, PhD. "This is an extraordinary opportunity for our community to host experts on something this important, and it is also a wonderful example of the resources that USF brings to the table here in Lakeland, both through the main Lakeland campus and the USF Rath Senior ConNEXTions and Education Center in Bartow," said Dr. Lamm.

Health care and social work professionals may earn as many as seven Continuing Medical Education (CME) and Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits by attending the 2005 Journey through Aging Conference, August 26 and 27.

The conference will consist of workshops, talks and panel discussions geared toward registered and practical nurses, physicians, physician assistants, licensed clinical social workers, pharmacists, psychologists/mental health therapists, dieticians, radiology technologists, speech therapists, and other interested health care providers.
