USF Lakeland Offers Industrial
Engineering
LAKELAND,
FL (May 23, 2002) - Starting
with the Fall, 2002 Semester, classes will be offered on the Lakeland
campus allowing students to obtain a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial
Engineering at the Lakeland campus. Though these classes were previously
offered from the Lakeland campus as FEEDS (Florida Engineering Education
Delivery System) classes broadcast from the Tampa campus, students now
have the opportunity to take these classes in the traditional classroom
setting. Included in the class offerings are required courses, Manufacturing
Processes, a prerequisite to several other classes, and Design of Experiments.
Additionally, students will be able to take another prerequisite, Work
Analysis, via distance education from the Tampa campus. The classes are
going to be offered in a cycle to allow a full-time student to be able
to complete their degree in two years, including summer semesters. For
more information on the new program in Industrial Engineering, contact
Dr. JoAnne Larsen at (863) 667-7061.
