Quality School Leaders
Symposia's Featured Speaker Focuses on Preparing Student for the
21st Century Workplace
LAKELAND,
FL (January 07, 2005) - Dr.
Willard R. Daggett's enlightening, entertaining and motivating messages
have helped his listeners to view education differently by challenging
assumptions about the purposes, benefits and effectiveness of American
schools. He will be presenting his message, "Technology in the 21st
Century Workplace: Preparing Students for a Changing World", Tuesday,
January 25, 2005, from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with coffee and registration
from 8:00 a.m. - 8:30 a.m. The event will be held at the Lake Mirror
Center, Theatre at 121 South Lake Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801. Dr.
Daggett will demonstrate how dramatically technology will change
the workplace and, more importantly, the skills and knowledge graduates
will need in order to be successful. This free presentation is part
of the Quality School Leaders Symposia. Area educators and community
members are invited and encouraged to attend.
Dr. Daggett, Ed.D., President of the International Center for Leadership
in Education, is recognized worldwide for his proven ability to
move education systems towards more rigorous and relevant skills
and knowledge for all students. Dr. Daggett inspires his audiences
to embrace what is best about our educational system and to make
the necessary changes to meet the needs of all students in the 21st
century.
This motivational event is sponsored by the USF Lakeland, Polk County
Schools, and Polk Business for WorldClass Education Quality School
Leaders Symposia. The QSLS is a collaboration of area businesses
with local educators in a unique partnership geared toward enriching
and expanding the skills of school administrators. Seed money for
the Symposia was granted through the Wallace Reader's Digest Ventures
in Leadership grant, provided to USF Lakeland for an Administrator's
Institute.
