LAKELAND,
FL (January 13, 2004) - Technology
has driven several revolutions in publishing in the last three decades.
The advent of the internet is only hastening the pace of change. Barry
Friedman, Electronic Media Editor for the Lakeland Ledger will present "Publishing:
From Hot Lead to Hot Web," on Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at
12:00 in
room 2125 on the USF Lakeland campus. His presentation will focus on
where technology has taken publishing and where it could be going. Friedman
has been in his current area since July of 1998. In that position he
has over seen development of the Ledger Online and coordinated the
Ledger's Internet operations. This lecture serves as the January installment
of the USF Information Technology series, held the 3rd Wednesday of
each month during the academic year. The lectures are free and the public
is welcomed. A free lunch is provided.
