LAKELAND,
FL (January 24, 2003) - Keeping
with the trend of increasing enrollment at USF Lakeland, the Spring 2003
enrollment numbers are up 24.6% from last spring! Since 1999 the Lakeland
student headcount has risen 135% from more than 700 students in Fall of
1999 to over 1650 students enrolled in classes for the Spring 2003 semester.
The rise in student numbers is attributed to many factors, not the least
of which is more course offerings, more day and evening classes and more
degrees offered on the Lakeland Campus.
“We’re proud of the strides our campus has made over the past
few years,” stated Dr. Preston Mercer Vice-President and CEO of
USF Lakeland. “Our goal is to continue to meet the educational demand
of our service area.”
