USF Lakeland commencement honors graduates
LAKELAND,
FL (April 28, 2008) - The University of South Florida Lakeland will recognize the achievements of 157 students at its spring commencement. The ceremony will take place May 5 at 7 p.m. in the Lakeland Center's Youkey Theatre.
One hundred and forty-four students will receive bachelor's degrees, and 13 will receive master's degrees. Candidates are graduating with degrees in the areas of Arts & Sciences, Business, Education, Engineering and Information Technology. USF President Judy Genshaft will confer the degrees.
The ceremony will feature keynote speaker Dr. Prem Sharma and the presentation of awards to graduating seniors Mari Nichole McKinley and Amanda Robinson.
Dr. Sharma was born in Mandalay, Burma. Following an illustrious career in education, he recently retired as academic dean of the Marquette University School of Dentistry. She will also receive a certificate of accomplishment, a gold medallion of the university seal and individual recognition during commencement. .A Lake Wales resident, McKinley will graduate with a bachelor's degree in elementary education.
