Second Annual Fall Commencement
LAKELAND,
FL (December 03, 2004) - The
University of South Florida's Lakeland campus is proud to announce
their second annual Fall commencement exercises for Friday, December
10, 2004, 7:00 p.m. in the Youkey Theatre of the Lakeland Center.
Over 90 students are expected to graduate from the local campus
this Fall. The speaker for the Fall commencement exercises will
be Commissioner Gow B. Fields.
Lakeland native and City of Lakeland Commissioner, Gow Fields, is
the owner of Fields & Company, Inc., doing business as Allstate
Insurance. Elected to the Lakeland City Commission in 1992, Commissioner
Fields is Chairman of the Finance Committee and is a member of the
Transportation-Airport Committee and the Utility Committee. He is
a member of the Downtown Lakeland Kiwanis, the USF Lakeland Business
Advisory Board, MyRegion.org Board of Directors, Polk Vision Steering
Committee, Lakeland Vision Executive and Steering Committee and
the Polk Transportation Planning Organization, to name a few.
Individuals scheduled to receive special recognition during the
ceremony include the Fall 2004 Distinguished Service Award Recipient,
Hunt Berryman of Lakeland, and USF Lakeland Fall 2004 Outstanding
Senior, Barbara Ramos.
USF Lakeland administration, faculty and staff are excited to now
provide both a Fall and Spring Commencement ceremony for their students.
This is tangible evidence of the growth the campus has experienced
in the past four years.
