To Receive Distinguished Service Award
From USF Lakeland
LAKELAND,
FL (December 5, 2003) - The
University of South Florida's Lakeland campus is proud to announce the
Fall 2003 recipient of the USF Lakeland Distinguished Service Award,
Mr. Daniel E. Stetson. The Polk Museum of Art Executive Director and
friend of USF Lakeland, will receive his award in the upcoming Fall commencement
exercises scheduled for Tuesday, December 16, 2003, at 7:00 p.m. in the
Youkey Theatre of the Lakeland Center.
Daniel Stetson joined the Polk Museum of Art (PMoA) in Lakeland, Florida in 1996 as Executive Director and is the Museum's CEO and chief curator, with an extensive curatorial and museum operations background.
A strong supporter of the University of South Florida's Lakeland campus Stetson has served on the USF Lakeland Community Advisory Board, and has been instrumental in enhancing the visibility of the university within the community. Representing the Cultural Arts Board of Polk County, and armed with a grant and partnership from USF Lakeland, Stetson was one of the principle managers of the first economic impact of the arts study for Polk County.
The USF Lakeland Distinguished Service award is given annually to outstanding community members who have been staunch supporters of the advancement of USF Lakeland within the community.
