New Scholarships Offered
at USF Lakeland
LAKELAND,
FL (November 28, 2001) - In
this day and age, most prospective college students depend on some type
of financial aid in order to pursue their dream of a college education.
The University of South Florida Lakeland campus has several scholarships
available to help make the dream a reality. The following new scholarships
are just two examples of the many types of aid available to those interested
in pursuing a college career:
Phi Delta Kappa
John F. Etten Scholarship
$1,000 Scholarship
Interested Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be a USF Elementary Education Students
- Must be an undergraduate in either junior or senior year
- Applicant must have leadership, scholarship and service skills
- Deadline to turn in application is January 25, 2002
- Applications must be mailed to: Jennifer Smith, 4928 Umber Way N.,
Tampa, FL 33624
Phi Delta Kappa is a professional education fraternity connected with
approved colleges and universities of graduate rank maintaining schools,
colleges or departments of education.
Community College Transfer Scholarship
Hispanic Scholarship Fund
Award Amount: $1,500 - $2,500
Application period: December 1, 2001 – February 15, 2002
Interested Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Must be of Hispanic background (one parent must be fully Hispanic
or both parents must be half Hispanic)
- Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
- Must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
- Must be a part-time or full-time community college student.
- Must be attending an accredited four-year college or university
in fall 2002 or spring 2003 on a full-time basis
