LAKELAND,
FL (November 26, 2001) - The
University of South Florida has chosen two representatives from the Lakeland
campus to serve as University Ambassadors: Toni Moment and Darlene Rivas.
Toni Moment is currently a USF Lakeland student seeking the Leadership
Studies Certificate/Minor. Additionally, she will enroll at Polk Community
College in Spring 2002 to obtain her Associate of Arts degree. Moment
will continue her undergraduate studies with both institutions and complete
her degree with USF Lakeland. Darlene Rivas is a returning USF Lakeland
Ambassador. A graduate of the USF College of Arts and Sciences with a
degree in Criminology, Rivas has been accepted into the Master’s
in Public Administration program at USF Lakeland.
Ambassadors represent the University of South Florida Lakeland campus
in a variety of media forums, serve as links to the Alumni Association
and the University President for the student body, and assist with events
hosted by administrative offices on both the Tampa and Lakeland campuses.
Ambassadors also assist in student driven outreach opportunities to strengthen
the relationship between the Alumni Association, students, faculty and
staff of the University. Ambassadors are chosen based on grade point average
and affable demeanor and must complete a final, comprehensive interview
with USF President Judy Genshaft. For more information about the Ambassador
