LAKELAND,
FL (November 8, 2001) - The
University of South Florida's Lakeland campus announces the first Lakeland
Campus Board meeting to be held on Friday, November 16, 2001. An 8:00
a.m. continental breakfast will be held before the 9:00 a.m., meeting.
The local campus board is chaired by Tampa Electric Company President,
John Ramil. Ramil is one of thirteen charter members of the University
of South Florida Board of Trustees appointed by Governor Jeb Bush. The
five regional members who make up the Lakeland Campus Board were selected
by USF President, Judy Genshaft based on recommendations made by Campus
Executive Officer and Dean, Dr. Preston Mercer. Members of the regional
campus Board include John W. Frost, II, an attorney with Frost & Saunders
Professional Association in Bartow. Frosts's wife and daughter are both
USF graduates; Carole F. Philipson, Vice President, Lakeland Regional
Medical Center. Philipson currently serves on the Advisory Board for the
USF-Lakeland Campus and on the ACHE Regent's Advisory Council for Western
Central Florida; Seretha S. Tinsley, CFO of Tinsley LLC d/b/a TGIF and
Vice President and Owner of PenGeo, Inc. d/b/a KFC; and Kelly T. Underhill,
Director of Treasury Operations & Taxes for Publix Super Markets, Inc.
Underhill is a USF alumna currently serving on the USF School of Accountancy
Advisory Board, the USF Alumni Board of directors and is a member of the
College of Business Administration Dean's Circle.
The meeting will be held on the USF - Lakeland campus in rooms 2125 and
