Research Help
The Lakeland Library Services offers reference and research
assistance. This include answering factual reference questions
and assistance in researching a topic, using the library or
information sources, and obtaining materials not available
in the USF Library System. There are five ways to get reference
or research assistance.
1. Ask a reference librarian
The USF Associate Librarian is available to help you with all your information needs. The office is located in LTB 1119. The Librarian is usually available during normal business hours.
2. Phone a reference librarian
Phone-in reference assistance for brief or factual questions
is available during regular business hours. You can reach
the USF Associate Librarian at 863-667-7737.
3. Ask-a-Librarian E-mail reference form
Use our online Reference Question Form
to submit your reference question. The USF Associate Librarian
will acknowledge your inquiry within 48 hours and respond
via e-mail as soon as possible. The length of time needed
to provide a response will depend upon the complexity of
your question.
4. Schedule a "Research One-on-One" Appointment
This individual assistance provides uninterrupted time for
assistance with your research, class paper, thesis, dissertation,
or basic library research skills. To schedule an appointment
contact the USF Associate Librarian at 863-667-7737 or submit
a Research One-On-One Appointment Form.
5. By chat – during the day and
early evening, you can chat
real-time with a USF Librarian for quick factual questions.
Please note that there is limited service during semester
breaks and during the summer semester and no service during
the week-ends.
