Our goal is to educate the potential that lies in the heads, hearts and hands of the students who are the future of central Florida.
There is no better gift than the gift of scholarships to help us do this.
Four reasons make your kind of support for USF Lakeland so valuable.
These reasons explain why increasing the number of scholarships for our
students
is now and will remain central to our future success.
- Awards for scholastic excellence
reinforce appreciation of the reality that we've become a "knowledge
society." Recognizing and encouraging advanced learning
acknowledges that traditional careers have decreased, and the
careers that have replaced them depend upon education.
- The offer of a scholarship encourages our best
and brightest to attend USF Lakeland. Remaining in central Florida
for their education, they're likely to identify or to create opportunities
for themselves here and therefore to remain to sustain and enhance the culture
and economy of the area.
- Scholarships relieve students of some or all of
the burden of tuition, which has grown. The state has
had to raise fees in order to preserve the value and quality
of education. The gift of a scholarship for students helps us
to provide the quality they expect and deserve.
- The gift of a scholarship to USF Lakeland implies
a partnership. In order for us to do our job we need to have effective
connections with the community. Giving and accepting scholarships builds
these relationships and makes us all better able to fulfill our civic responsibilities.
In short, university scholarships are fine investments in the future of central Florida and its residents.
Thank
you to our donors for their tangible
recognition that we share a common task.
