Spring 2008 Commencement
Monday, May 5, 2008
Location:
The Lakeland Center, Youkey Theatre
701 W. Lime Street
Lakeland, FL 33815
7:00 p.m.: Ceremony
Commencement is a time to recognize the great achievements of our
USF Lakeland students. The first USF Lakeland commencement was held
May 3, 2001, in the Polk Theatre in Lakeland. With more than 75
graduates and over 1,100 guests, the commencement ceremony was a
huge success.
As the number of USF Lakeland graduates continued to grow, a fall
commencement ceremony was introduced in 2003.
Did you know?
While USF President Genshaft participates in all four campus’
commencement ceremonies, the ceremonies are not identical. Due to
smaller graduating classes, Lakeland is able to add a few special
touches to make it a memorable experience for our graduates.
In Lakeland’s intimate ceremony you will participate in the
processional instead of being pre-seated in an auditorium. You will graduate with your
fellow students, shake the hands of faculty you know, and celebrate
with advisors, staff and administration who have helped you along
the way. The ceremony is approximately 1 hour in length.

Programs
The graduate names listed
in the program come from the Registrar’s office, based on
the list of Lakeland students who have applied to graduate by the
end of the fourth week of the term. Your name may not be in the
program if you have applied to graduate after that deadline, if
you have elected total privacy on your student record, or if Lakeland
is not designated as your home campus. Registration for the Commencement
ceremony does not ensure your name is printed in the program.
